Foundation Announces Cohort VI for Early College Program Foundation for Pottstown Education
The Foundation for Pottstown Education recently announced the fifteen Pottstown High School students who have been accepted in to the Early College Program. This program enables these students the opportunity to take college courses at the Montgomery County Community College during their junior and senior years. Students can earn up to 30 credits and complete their first year of college while still attending high school.

Franklin Elementary School 3rd Graders Go Outback Foundation for Pottstown Education
More than 70 Franklin Elementary third graders learned about table manners, etiquette, and nutrition on a recent field trip to Outback Steakhouse. The funding request submitted by one of Franklin’s third grade teacher, Mrs. Darla Stout, was approved by the Foundation Board in the amount of $497.

Middle School Environmental Science Club Attends PEC Foundation for Pottstown Education
For the second year, the Foundation approved funding requested by Middle School Teacher and Environmental Science Club Advisor, Mrs. Ginger Angelo. The Board approved $3,000 enabled 50 Middle School Students to attend the three day two night camping experience at the Pocono Environmental Education Center through funding provided for STEM grants.

7th Graders Fly At I Fly Foundation for Pottstown Education

Seventh grade teacher, Mrs. Kim Petro submitted a funding request in support of the 7th grade field trip to I Fly in King of Prussia. The Foundation Board approved the request in the amount of $3,850, which paid half of the entry fee for each of the 140 students.

AP Testing Foundation for Pottstown Education
The Foundation for Pottstown Education approved a funding request from High School Counselor, Michael Pagano, which covered part of the fees associated with the Advanced Placement (AP) testing. The amount of this year’s funding was $3,075 and enabled 68 Pottstown High School students to take these tests. Some students take more than one test.

Three inductees will join more than 165 others in the Sporting Goods Industry Hall of Fame in May 2018. Foundation for Pottstown Education
The 2018 class includes the late Arthur Gochman of Academy Sports + Outdoors, Stan Jurga of All-Star Sporting Goods and Barbara Longstreth of Longstreth Sports. They have made significant contributions to the industry and will be inducted with this distinguished honor during the 54th Annual NSGA Management Conference & 20th Team Dealer Summit in Bonita Springs, Florida.

Four Pottstown High School Graduates Named As Inductees To The Alumni Honor Roll Class Of 2018 Foundation for Pottstown Education

What do the Pottstown High School Classes of 1962, 1979, 1982 and 1991 have in common? They all have classmates who have been nominated for inclusion in the 2018 Class for the Pottstown High School Alumni Honor Roll. Aram Ecker, chair of the Alumni Honor Roll Committee placed the names of James R. Bush, Theresa Rinaldi, Jonathan C. Corson and Heather M. Thiret as the nominees for this year’s class to the Pottstown School Board on Thursday April 19, 2018.

The Third Annual Foundation for Pottstown Education Gala was held on Saturday March 3, 2018. Thanks to more than 90 people attending, three terrific Sponsors, twenty Silent Auction Donors and 187 of the most talented performers and crew, we raised more than $12,000 in support of promoting opportunities for the students and teachers of the Pottstown School District!

J.P. Mascaro and Sons Educational Fund Provides EITC Funding to the Foundation for Pottstown Education Foundation for Pottstown Education

The J.P. Mascaro and Son Educational Fund recently donated $5,000 to the Foundation for Pottstown Education through the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Education Improvement Tax Credit program. This funding will support the approved EITC programs offered by the Foundation such as the Early College Program offered in cooperation with the Montgomery County Community College.

The Foundation for Pottstown Education is currently working with Publishing Concepts Inc (PCI) on updating the Alumni Directory that was last published in 2009. Postcards and email to Pottstown High School Alumni will be sent beginning Friday February 9, 2018.
